The candidates applying for the positions of Professors and Associate Professors must submit their applications online.
In the absence of an online application hard and soft copies of the applications will not be entertained and submitted before the due date.
Important Points
1. Eligibility:
Candidate eligibility will be determined based on HEC criteria. Shortlisting and review will follow the AIOU Service Rules 1978 (with later updates) and the AIOU Recruitment Policy.

2. Maximum age limit as prescribed under Rules shall be relaxed in pursuance of Relaxation of Upper Age Limit Rules, 1993 (amended from time to time), as provided in AIOU Services Statutes 1978 (amended from time to time).
3. How Can Apply:
All applicants must apply online through the AIOU Job Portal at careers.aiou.edu.pk.
4. Application Criteria
- Candidates applying for Professor or Associate Professor positions need to submit applications online.
- 4 hard copies (bound) and 1 soft copy (CD in PDF format).
- These must include verified academic documents, research articles, details of research supervision (as per HEC standards)
- Proof of supervising M.Phil and Ph.D. students, research grants, and community involvement.
- Original paid Bank Challan
- Both hard and soft copies must be submitted before the deadline.
- Submission of these is mandatory even if applied online.
5. Government/Semi-Government working candidates
Applicants working in government, semi-government, or autonomous bodies (including AIOU employees) must apply through the proper channels and submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) and service certificate from their controlling authority. The application will be incomplete and rejected if not provided by the deadline.
6. Former Applied Candidates:
If you applied for the June 2022 job posts, you do not need to apply again.
7. Application Processing Fee:
- For BPS-16 positions: Rs. 1500/-
- For BPS-17 positions: Rs. 1500/-
- For BPS-20 & BPS-21 positions: Rs. 2000/-

8. TA/DA
No travel or daily allowances will be provided for attending interviews.
